The 2026 science fair has begun, and it brings new projects. This year, students are eager to show off their boards to judges, with projects going from plants, wood, and paper airplanes.
The science fair has been an opportunity for students to express their joy and knowledge in a scientific subject. Keep reading to see some experiments our ACC students came up with.
The ACC science fair has judges and students asking questions and looking for presenters. The judges come from every background, such as nursing, education, and more.
When asking Ali Parker and Anne about her thoughts on the students says that, “[she’s]I’m really excited to see. Varghese about their thoughts on the students’ work, they replied that “they love the passion that the students show.” Another judge, Katherine Aleda, who specializes in renewable energy, shows how enthusiastic students are about science and the topics they are studying.
Students participating in the science fair put in a huge amount of effort in the final stretch. Everything led up to this moment, so students would be ready to express their knowledge.
Some had a positive experience working on their projects, such as Charlotte Waggy and Midus Mesfin, explaining how the end product was worth it. However, other opinions were mixed, with most students being stressed about the fair.
Some weren’t afraid to voice their opinions, like Dante Barrios Klingle, expressing that a “forced science fair” isn’t the best way to show a love of science throughout the school. Making their projects isn’t the only thing our ACC students did, as the other half was presenting. On this topic, most responses were explaining how their experience was a mix of nerve racking+comfort.
Jack Murphy says how he felt overwhelmed by the other projects; however still came through with “I’m glad I worked on it, and I’m glad I didn’t give up on it”. Two more voices on the subject show the two different sides of this science fair, with Meave Hines telling how being at the science fair was anxiety-inducing and Winston Greenwood commenting how, after a while, it became fun to explain to the judges.
This concludes the 2026 ACC science fair, an excellent showcase of student passion and the future of young minds in STEM. Congratulations to all who have participated!
