Meet Jesse Holt, a junior at the Career Center who is excited to be a part of the new ACC Chronicle staff team. Holt has a great interest in puzzles and analysis-related subjects in school, such as science and math. These interests have drawn Holt into one career pathway for his future, Forensic Science.
Forensic Science is commonly known as the action of applying sciences to help in criminal cases. From collecting and analyzing evidence, to writing up reports on said evidence, and providing testimonies to cases regarding that very evidence, Forensic Scientists have brought closure to many cases and shed light on never-before-seen details that would’ve otherwise been disregarded or ignored.
“It feels like I’m solving a puzzle,” says Holt. “It’s a crime and it’s my job to figure out the details of what happened based on little to nothing more than what is at the scene.” Forensic scientists help investigators deal with all sorts of cases and are a critical part of the criminal justice system, working diligently to provide evidence to reveal the truth. As the human population is ever-growing, the rise of crime is certain to follow, making this job a vital part of our future.
