ACC’s No Place For Hate Campaign

Here at ACC, we are No Place For Hate. Starting this week, ACC’s equity team is hosting student-led SEL conversations with archer periods in the commons to discuss how we can incorporate one of the six pledges into our daily lives. The ACC equity team is run and supported by the office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and Ms. Monica. No Place For Hate is a campaign created by ADL, an anti-hate organization. It’s a framework that encourages students, administrators, teachers, and family members to develop an inclusive school climate.

One important step of our campaign asks ACC students to sign a pledge as part of a small-group SEL conversation. During these sessions, participants are guided by the words of Maya Angelou: “People won’t remember what you did. People won’t remember what you said. But people will always remember the way you made them feel.” In addition, students share how they incorporate one of the pledges into their daily lives and help their peers to help make ACC a better place. This is ACC’s third year participating in No Place For Hate, and we hope to continue participating for years to come, building a strong culture of respect for everyone.
