A Letter to the Students,
As we know, this past week was our seniors’ last week. I interviewed some of them and asked them to advise the rising freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors. There was academic, personal, and social-related advice.
Some academic advice to the rising freshmen was, “Enjoy your first year of high school, but lock in so you can start with a good GPA.” Some social advice was, “Advocate for yourself, don’t be afraid. Talk to people you don’t know yet. Most importantly, find a good group of friends.”
The seniors also gave some advice to the rising sophomores. One senior advised, “Don’t try to get involved in every club and sport; just pick one or two things and stick with them for the rest of high school.” Another senior advised, “Have goals and set principles and boundaries to help you achieve your goals and prepare for junior year.”
Other seniors gave some advice to the rising juniors. The seniors advised rising juniors on the importance of junior year. One senior said, “Be disciplined and get the job done even when you don’t want to or don’t feel like it.” Another senior said, “This is the most important year for school, especially if you’re going to college.”
Lastly, the seniors gave some advice to the rising seniors. They advised rising seniors on the importance of having a purpose and applying for scholarships. One senior said, “Operate with purpose. Wandering will not take you where you want to go; consistent actions will.” Another senior said, “Apply for every scholarship possible, remember GPA matters, and enjoy the time you have left.” Overall, the advice from the class of 2025 is about academic and personal growth. They most importantly advised underclassman to have fun!
Congratulations, Class of 2025!
