Welcome to springtime! Here in Arlington the season is well known for flipping the weather on a whim— it can be cold one day and hot the next, or vice versa. But spring is also a time where everything around you changes, so a book appreciating change or nature is a perfect fit for the season.
This month’s fiction book is called The Girl Who Drank the Moon by Kelly Barnhill. A misunderstood witch named Xan lives in the forest of a nearby town and raises a girl named Luna, who has powers granted by the moon, but doesn’t know it. When her powers begin to emerge, Xan is travelling, and Luna is left on her own to protect her life, even as everything changes.
This month’s non-fiction book is called Raising Hare and is a memoir by Chloe Dalton. During lockdown, she found a baby rabbit and brought it home, only to find out she had no idea how to care for it. If you love animals and need a heartwarming story, this is a perfect book to read with a comfy blanket and pillow.
Happy reading and enjoy spring!
