Happy New Year! New Year’s is a good time for self-reflection and a look to the future. One good way to celebrate is to curl up by a warm fire with a good book— so here are January’s book recommendations.
This month’s fiction book is New Year’s Kiss by Lee Matthews. This book follows Tess, a teenage girl spending Winter Break at a resort in Vermont. Tess is determined to finish a bucket list of things she wants to do before the New Year, and she meets a boy named Christopher who is willing to help her with all of those things. Christopher is hiding something, though, straining their relationship and leaving Tess wondering whether they have a future or not.
This month’s nonfiction book is The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins. Since New Year’s is a time for self-reflection, one of the best things you can do is try a new mindset. This book— The Let Them Theory— offers a mindset that helps you differentiate between the things you can and cannot control. There are always things we can’t control in life, and sometimes that’s difficult to accept, but a new mindset can help you accept those things faster.
Happy reading, and good luck in 2025!
