As many of you know, the Kindness Club, run by seniors Maggie Odar, Caroline Scwebach, and Marin McCormack, has been pretty popular among students lately. The club meets on Tuesdays in Ms. Lauman’s room to work on a number of activities. Marin had the idea to start this club with friends near the end of their sophomore year to find leadership and practice community service while doing something fun. Marin had been volunteering with a kindness activist for a while which inspired her to start her own club, ultimately turning out very well.
This group participates in a multitude of fun activities that promote positive energy in our school environment. On Tuesday, November 19, the Kindness Club painted rocks with positive messages and cute drawings. Their finished products can be found under the stairs in the Commons with all of the other rocks in hopes that it will uplift students as they walk by. As Maggie says, “We want to bring a pop of color as people are looking down and hopefully brighten someone’s day.”
Kindness rocks enliven our halls and lift up the spirit in our school. Many freshmen here at ACC participated in the rock painting in a rainbow array of bright colors. If you want to enjoy fun activities for both community service and a chance to relax, stop by the Kindness Club and meet someone new.
