Scream is a classic movie that I believe everyone should watch at least once in their lifetime. If, for some reason, you haven’t heard of Scream, it’s a cheesy horror comedy from 1996 directed by Wes Craven. It stars Neve Campbell, David Arquette, Skeet Ulrich, Courteney Cox, and Matthew Lillard. The film follows a group of high schoolers being stalked by an illusive killer in a “Ghostface” mask. Now, if I had to give my personal opinion on the film, I would say it’s one of the best horror movies ever created. It has spawned a great franchise that is still enjoyed by many to this day. The things I liked about the movie were the over-the-top acting, script, and story. The cast really sells the idea that they are just a normal group of high schoolers. I won’t spoil the movie, but the reveal of the final killer is literally iconic. Wes Craven is an excellent storyteller and it shows in Scream. Mainstream horror has been shaped by Scream, and it has definitely cemented itself a place in modern pop culture. That’s why I think everyone should watch this at least once. And for all you scaredy cats, don’t worry, there isn’t too much gore or guts. I personally don’t think it’s really all that creepy! If you would like to watch Scream, it is streaming on HBO Max, and you can rent it on Amazon.
