The Ghost with the Most is back in town! Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is a charming revitalization of a beloved cult classic. In this film, decorated director Tim Burton breathes new life into his ghostly character, Beetlejuice, who is the namesake of the movie. In the first movie, Beetlejuice the “bio-exorcist” (Micheal Keaton) is enlisted to help a newly deceased couple scare away a family who recently purchased their home. Things take a turn when the family’s daughter, Lydia Deetz (Winona Ryder) can see all of the ghosts in her house, including Beetlejuice. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, or simply Beetlejuice 2, is just as stupid and silly as the original. This time around, the focus is on Astrid (Jenna Ortega) who is Lydia’s daughter. It’s filled to the brim with quirky jokes and adorable gags. Beetlejuice gets up to his usual mischief, but because of the new film’s PG-13 rating, the humor gets a little more crass, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Burton remained true to his style and chose to incorporate as many practical elements as possible, such as claymation and some really impressive makeup. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is still playing in theaters and should be available on streaming within the next month. It’s a great movie for the whole family during the Halloween season. Go see it!
