Fifteen-year-old freshman Henry Adams might just be Arlington Tech’s biggest basketball fan. Adams was first introduced to the sport when he was nine-years-old. He joined a basketball team, but Adams would figure that basketball isn’t for him; he didn’t have the time for the team. However, 3 years later, when a basketball hoop was put into his basement, Adams’ love for the sport was rekindled. Adams eventually decided to stay more as a fan than as a player. And thus, Adams started learning about basketball players and their feats. Since then, he’s sprouted multiple opinions about some of the best players.
Some of Adams’ favorite basketball players are Isaiah Thomas, Klay Thompson, Larry Bird, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Steve Nash, Bill Russel, and Kevin Durant. Adams’ all time favorite team are the Detroit Pistons, specifically the Detroit Pistons in 1988 – 1989. They were known as the Bad Boy Pistons because of how great the team was doing. Adams also believes that LeBron James is overrated and is definitely good, but not as good as everyone says he is. Adams, overall, has grown over these past few years and he still doesn’t know what his plans are for the future. But what drew him to basketball was all the hype, the rush, the feeling of watching people move with efficiency while trying to beat the buzzer and win the game. He still plays casually with his friends to this day.
