Fourteen-year-old Lulia Petros was born with a hunger for justice and a passion for dance. Raised in an Eritrean family and brought up in South Central L.A., Petros was enrolled in a S.T.E.M. based magnet school at a young age. Her passion for law sprouted in childhood while she was surrounded by government figures. Her Grandfather was an ambassador in Senegal, and many of her family members worked in government. Family is one of Lulia’s key values, she says, “To me, family is a very important part of my life, I wouldn’t be able to be where I am today without them.”
Not only is Petros charging through the world of law, she also has a passion for the universal language, dance. She enjoys both hip-hop and Afro-rap, and hopes to someday dance to her own music. Her love of music and movement was sparked when she was a young child. Watching K-Pop artists dance on TV, she was inspired by their determination and talent. Although Petros aims for a position in law, she will always hold her connection to music deep in her heart.
Petros is now excited to pursue her career in law at Arlington Tech and learn more about herself. She hopes to participate in classes like criminal justice and forensic science. Petros is a hard-working, kind, and funny student who has a curiosity for the world around her and carries passion with her in everything she does. Her aspiration for music and rule of law will take her far in her journey towards success.
